Carol Ann Carter, 80, of Dallas, Texas, transitioned peacefully on August 19, 2025 in her home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 9, 1944, in Duncan, Oklahoma to the late Lewis Allen and Eula K. Harris, Carol Ann lived a full and spirited life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Allen and Eula K. Harris; her grandparents, Buster and Emma Robertson; and two beloved daughters, Lisa Andrews and Andrea Haywood.
She is survived by her children Angela Taylor, Richard Carter, Robert Carter (Shenekqual L. Carter), Rodney Carter, Kathryn Carter, and Russell Carter (Carolyn Carter); and cherished by her grandchildren: Carlos Carter, Dasmine Carter, Brandi Cox McGee, Jacorian Carter, Jalen Shepard, Talmadge Kemp, Chantriel Childs, Russ'l Childs, Brenshawnda Andrews, Brannon Andrews, Antonio Dunlap, Tiara Dunlap, Ja'Shaylin Carter, Arielle Carter, Rashawnda Carter, Moinyae Carter, Rodney Carter, Jr., Sh'quai Guess,Kyla Cross, Braylon Mitchell, Taysha Caldwell, Nicole Deshong (Danny Ornelas), Tremya Guess, Teisha Caldwell, Kiara Caldwell.
She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, godchildren, extended family and dear friends who will continue honoring her legacy.
Although retired, Carol Ann remained passionately active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in the simple things in life, like watching WWE, bingeing Law & Order: SVU, and sharing stories that would leave you in stitches. She was unrivaled on any Spades table. Her unmatched sharp wit and sense of humor were "free game," if you were able to pick up what she put down.
Carol Ann owned every room she entered. She was the rock of her family-strong, nurturing, unapologetically loyal, packed with a little tough love. She will be remembered not only as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, but also as an example of resilience, hard work and hustle. She was truly one-of-one.
A public visitation will be Monday, September 1st beginning at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM at Waldo Funeral Chapel. Rev. Corey Battle will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals of Waldo Funeral Home. You may sign the online guestbook at waldofuneralhome.com.
