Alma R. Duke

Alma R. Duke (Harmon), age 97, of Manchester, TN passed this life on Friday, January 24, 2025 at NHC in Tullahoma, TN. She was born on December 5, 1927 in Manchester, TN to the late Alton N. Harmon and Rena (Ferrell) Harmon Winfree. In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayburn Petway Duke, her sisters Leona Waveline Cates, Ruby A. Driver, and Mildred Brown, and great grandchild Eli St. John.Alma was a loving mother, and her family meant everything to her. She cooked a big Sunday dinner every week for family and friends alike. She enjoyed tending to her gardens which included many different crops and flowers. Alma worked as a caregiver at Crestwood Nursing Home and loved spending time with her patients and taking care of them. Above all, she deeply loved her family as they were everything to her. Alma is survived by her sons Bobby Duke (Linda), Eddie Duke (Kerry), and Timothy Duke, daughter Nancy Pennington (David), sister Maudie Duke, brother Winfree Morris, grandchildren Tracy St. John (Scott), Bryan Pennington (Anna), Isaac Daniels (Monica), Chad Duke (Belle), Clay Duke (Lindsey), Trent Duke (Mandy), Peyton Talley, Dru Talley, great grandchildren Emily St. John (Trevor), Haley St. John, Emilia Pennington, Caden Reel, Emmett Daniels, Elijah Daniels, Elliot Daniels, Bailey Duke (Jana), Austin Duke (Emily), Paisley Duke, and one great great grandchild Maybry Duke.The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Monday, January 27th at Manchester Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm in the chapel. Internment will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Manchester Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Alma R. Duke.
