Alma Ann Gerhardt

Gerhardt, Alma Ann (nee: Mabey), age 90, of Franklin Lakes, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Born and raised in Hawthorne, Alma had lived in Franklin Lakes since 1955 and had worked for the Borough of Franklin Lakes in the Clerk's Department for 18 years. Alma was a longtime member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church where she served in the Mission Aides Group. She was also a teacher for Vacation Bible School, an aide for the church library and a member of the choir.
Alma was the beloved wife of William Gerhardt. Loving mother of Beverly Ryan and her husband Dan of Worthington, OH and Barbara Lee Meyer of New Bedford, MA. Dear grandmother of Timothy Ryan and his wife Sara of Denver, CO and Kevin Ryan and his wife Abby of Worthington, OH. Dearest great-grandmother of Emerson, Elliot, Lenny and Delaney.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. Interment of ashes will follow at Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:30am-12:00pm.
