Robert H Mitchell

Robert H. Mitchell, 81, of Stockholm, known to many as Bob, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021.
Born and raised in Paterson, Bob married Diane Keizer in 1972 and the couple settled in Stockholm where they raised their two children. Bob taught business classes at Pequannock Township High School for over 35 years, was the Junior Class Advisor, and ran the school store. Bob was a square dance caller at several square dance clubs in Sussex County. He was an active member of Franklin Presbyterian Church for many years, served on the Session and various committees, and was a member of the church choir. Bob was an avid traveller and always enjoyed new places and new experiences. In recent years Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren at various school, music, and sporting events.
Bob is lovingly survived by his wife, Diane; his daughter, Stacey DiGregorio; his son, Todd Mitchell and wife Laura; his grandchildren, Luke, Sophia, and Matthew; and many loving friends.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, December 1 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, December 2 at Hawthorne Gospel Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Pompton Reformed Cemetery, Pompton Lakes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Hawthorne Christian Academy, the school Bob loved and supported for over a decade.
