Pembroke- Alma Ruth Mallard Dukes, age 80, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mrs. Dukes was born in Savannah to the late Carl “Bud” Mallard and Evelyn Stafford Mallard. Mrs. Dukes was formerly of Sylvania, Georgia before moving to Pembroke a number of years ago. She was a caregiver and a member of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Dukes enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of her animals. She was an excellent cook and loved just being outside. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Cleland; sons, Michael Cleland and Johnny Cleland and her brother, Herman Mallard.
Survivors include her grandson and his wife, Gaston Vance and Jessica Vance of Nevils; great grandchildren, Weston Vance and Haidyn Vance and her aunt, Margaret Stafford of Statesboro.
Visitation will be held 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2025 at the funeral home
The funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery.
