Alpha Mae Dinning, known simply as Alpha or Granny to her friends and family, embarked on her final adventure to the great beyond on May 21, 2025 in Harleton, Texas, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. Born on February 16, 1946, in Marshall, Texas, Alpha lived a life filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of Candy Crush.
Alpha leaves behind a legacy of joy and a family that includes her beloved husband, Bob Dinning; her son, Tony Reyno and his wife, Amie; her grandson, Reily Reyno and his wife, Madisen; her favorite granddaughter, Allison Reyno; and her littlest ray of sunshine, great-granddaughter Mia Reyno. Her Brother, Jody Hearnsberger, and multiple nieces and nephews.
If you knew Alpha, you'd know her house was the one where you couldn't leave without a full belly and a side of giggles. She was the queen of the kitchen and believed that a family that eats together, stays together. Alpha's love for Candy Crush was only rivaled by her passion for Gospel Musicals. She often quipped that if heaven didn't have a Branson, Missouri, she'd have a word with the management. Her trips to see her favorite shows were legendary.
Spirited, loving, and funny with a dash of sass- these words encapsulate the essence of Alpha. She had a quip for every occasion and a smile that could light up a room. She often said, "I'm not arguing, I'm just explaining why I'm right." Her family will remember her as the matriarch who orchestrated family gatherings with the precision of a four-star general and the warmth of a summer's sun.
As Alpha makes her way to that grand Gospel Singing in the sky, her family takes comfort in knowing that she's probably up there rearranging the choir and adding a few new punchlines to the angelic routines. She was a woman who lived life to the fullest, laughed in the face of adversity, and loved without limits. Alpha Mae Dinning may have left the stage, but the echo of her laughter remains, a comforting reminder that joy can be found in every moment if we only look for it. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, and her memory will be a beacon of happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. So here's to Alpha, a woman who never missed a beat, always had the last laugh, and whose spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those she loved. Rest in peace, dear Alpha, and may your heavenly abode be filled with endless joy, laughter, and maybe just one more level of Candy Crush.
