Alphonse John Misko

Alphonse John Misko, age 86, of Trenton, passed away March 18, 2025.

Born August 5, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, Al was the son of Alphonse and Sophia (Kosakowski) Misko. A graduate of Macomber High School, he then continued his education at the University of Toledo receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He completed his graduate education at Eastern Michigan University obtaining his EdS Degree. Al worked as a teacher for Taylor Public Schools for over 40 years, retiring in 2002. He married the love of his life, Janice McMann, on December 16, 1966. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton, was a member of the Macomber High School Alumni Association, and the University of Toledo Varsity T Club.

Al leaves to cherish his memory, Jan, his wife of the past 58 years; his daughters, Susan Slowinski and Roberta Misko; his grandson, Matrix Slowinski; beloved big brother of 3 sisters, Stephany Misko, Ann Marie Krueger, and Kathleen Pitzen; three sisters-in-law, Faith McMann, Kay (Fred) Patterson (both deceased), and Bonnie McMann; brother-in-law, Keith (Nel – deceased) McMann; many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Al's life has been planned under the direction of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Trenton Chapel. Friends may visit Martenson Funeral Home, 3200 West Road, Trenton, Michigan, Sunday, March 23, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, March 24, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trenton, Michigan, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Private burial will follow at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.
