Alta Bell Osborne, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on May 30, 1938, in Fort Smith, the beloved daughter of Walter Carson and Ella (Finch) Carson.

Alta was a dedicated and hardworking woman, spending 35 years of her career at Dixie Cup. More than anything, she cherished her family. She loved hosting holiday gatherings, going out to eat, and spending time with her great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kyndal. She especially enjoyed the thoughtful ways her family cared for her, which she fondly referred to as "labors of love." A longtime member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church, Alta will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a sweet, honest, generous, and deeply loving woman.

She is survived by her two sons, Benny Osborne and Dennis Osborne; three grandchildren, Amy Osborne, Carrie Osborne, and Andrea Burch; two great-grandchildren, Kayden Osborne and Kyndal Osborne; and her sister-in-law, Mary Carson.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ella Carson; her sisters, Montess "Tessie" and Claudine "Tootie"; and her brothers, Walter "Babe" Carson and Wade Carson.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Benny and Dennis Osborne, Justin Ledbetter and Danny Vernon.
