Alton Guillory, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, was called to his heavenly home on July 12, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 26, 1940, in the quaint town of Swords, Louisiana. He grew up in Eunice, Louisiana. Alton lived a life characterized by unwavering faith, love for his family, and a deep-rooted sense of service.
Alton's journey through life was marked by his dedication to his beloved wife, Nell Guillory, and their four children, Annetta Guillory Adkins, Angela Nance, Antonio Guillory, and Ted Guillory. He was an incredible father. Each of them carries forward the lessons of integrity and compassion that Alton instilled in them. He took immense pleasure in being the best dad ever, a title he earned every day through his actions and unwavering presence.
He was a brother to Sarah Piggee, Milton Guillory, Betty Dickerson, Jean Alfred, Michael Guillory, Liness Guillory, and Delton Guillory. All of whom found strength and compassion in his presence.
Alton's passion for blues music was only matched by his love for barbecuing. Family gatherings were a symphony of savory aromas and soulful tunes, all curated by Alton's generous spirit. These moments were more than just meals; they were expressions of his thoughtful nature and his desire to nurture the bonds of family and friendship. He found joy in the simplest moments-time spent with his family was his greatest treasure. His laughter and stories filled their home with warmth, and his guidance was the compass by which they navigated their lives. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will continue to inspire them.
Alton's life was one marked by dedication and service. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years in the medical field. Alton's service to his country was a testament to his selfless nature and his dedication to the principles of freedom and duty. During his service, he earned an Associates Degree. Following his retirement from military service, Alton continued to serve his community as a Postal Carrier, where his work ethic and warm smile became a familiar comfort to many.
Alton was a devoted Catholic, living his faith through his actions and the love he shared with his family and friends. His life was a testament to the values of kindness, thoughtfulness, and love, which he embodied in every

interaction. He was a rock for his family, offering guidance and support in all their endeavors. His loving wife of 63 years, Nell Guillory, was his partner in every sense, sharing in the joys and challenges of life for many adventures.
A man of generous heart, Alton will be remembered for his selflessness and his thoughtful ways. His legacy is one of unwavering generosity, as he always sought to give more than he received.
