Alvin "BEAR" Davis

Alvin Davis (54) popularly known as "Bear" was born April 5, 1971 to Doretha Davis and Leroy Sykes, Sr., in Emporia, VA. He departed this life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, under the care of Hospice in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones.

Bear grew up in Emporia, VA he attended and graduated from Greensville County High School in 1989. In the early 70's he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Baltimore Baptist Church. After completing high school Bear moved to Maryland with his Aunt Mary to attend trade school for Computer Tech and Culinary Arts. He mastered beyond expectation and received advanced diploma in math and spelling. He became a jack of ALL trades, but mostly loved doing hair, cooking, dressing and looking good.

Bear held various jobs in the manager field and always upheld great work ethic. Bear was always there for others even in his lowest moments. He never said NO always saying "I GOT YOU!" To know him was to love him his heart was pure gold. He loved spending time with family and friends he was really big on family he shared a special love for his mother, father, daughter, granddaughter and siblings. He always called to check on everyone no matter what time of day it was. His joyful spirit will forever live on.
