Ethel Pulliam Obituary
Ethel accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Jarratt, Virginia. In her later years, she became a faithful member of the Missionary Ministry. Her devotion to God was unwavering and her tenacious spirit was an example to all who knew her.
Ethel began her education in the Sussex County School System. She attended the Little Mill Elementary School before continuing to the Sussex County Training School.
Upon completing high school, Ethel relocated to New York, where she devoted herself to a life of service–helping others as a social worker and caregiver. After living in New York for many years, she returned to her beloved hometown of Stony Creek, Virginia, to care for her mother.
Ethel lived a life full of joy. She delighted in the beauty of fashion, the rhythm of music, and the freedom of dancing. Her warm, contagious, and unmistakable laugh could brighten a room long before she ever entered it. She was a source of strength, comfort, and wisdom for her entire family.
Ethel leaves to cherish her memory four nieces: Nadine Bolling (Larry), Charlene Johnson (Calvin), Melanie Walker, and Cassandra Prosise. One nephew: James Leon Lewis. Eight great-nephews: CaVonte Johnson, Lamorris Bolling, LaQuinn Bolling, Larry Bolling Jr., Dashuan and Rashaun Walker, Jamaal Walker, Brandon Lewis, and James Leon Lewis Jr. Two great-nieces: Kayla Prosise-Noel and Tunitia Bolling. Devoted cousins: Russell Thompson (Pat), Barbara Jean Donaldson (Freddie), Vivian Trisvan, Nelson Embery, Vivian Lewis, Alastair and Janice Bailey, Ned and Lucy Hill, Mary Hill and the late Henry Bailey; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
