Alvin E. Hall, age 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 3, 1947 to the late Harry Raymond and Mary Anne Hall (nee Thream).

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister, Violet Hall, Brothers, Raymond and Leroy Hall, and Granddaughters Olivia Boldt and Erin Stanley.

Alvin is survived by his beloved Wife of 52 years, Glenda Hall (nee Bolen ), his Brother, Harry (Pamela) Hall; seven children; Jackie Stanley, Robert Hall, Holly Hall, Lisa Aichele-Reed, Kimberly Dellinger, Nicholas (Paula) Hall, and Joseph Hall. Alvin leaves 21 Grandchildren; Jessica (Erik) Benkelmann, Samantha (Steven) Miller, Marie Hall, Jacob Hall, Jozilynn Hall, Zoey Hall, Ashton Hall, Ryan Reed, Elizabeth Reed, Michael Pittman, Matthew Pittman, Robert Stanley, Aaron Hall, Payton Hall, Lydia Hall, Jeff Hall, Mandy Hall, Ryan Hall, Craig Hall, Breezy Hall, and Alex Hall. As well as four Great Grandsons, Erik Benkelmann, Jr., Alexander Benkelmann, and Christian Cox.

A proud patriot, Alvin served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War, where he was recognized numerous times for his achievements. His time in the service shaped his strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and deep appreciation for his country.

Alvin was a natural storyteller, known for his personal anecdotes, told with such great detail that you never quite knew where the truth ended and embellishment began. A lifelong mechanic, he retired from the City of Cincinnati and could fix just about anything - whether it was done the "right" way or not, he always found a way to make it work. He was a handyman at heart and a jack of all trades, always willing to help build a deck, tackle a home improvement project, or lend a hand where needed.

He had pet names for many loved ones, and an encyclopedic knowledge of Cincinnati’s streets, history, and buildings - he not only knew every road but also who had lived there and probably where their parents had lived before them. He preferred the scenic route, always taking the time to appreciate the city he called home. A member of the Southwestern Ohio Conservation Club, he loved the outdoors, a passion that carried from his younger years of hunting, fishing, and camping into his later years, where he enjoyed HAM radio (KC8FJO), learning about the Civil War, and watching classic American Westerns.

Alvin never went anywhere without running into someone he knew, and when he did, he was sure to stop and talk - sometimes for hours. He cherished his morning outings with friends, where good conversation flowed as freely as the coffee. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife. Alvin leaves behind a legacy of laughter, wisdom, and stories that will be told for generations.
