Franklin was born to the late Alvin and Viola Harry on April 8, 1954, in Tallahassee, Florida. Franklin grew up in Perry, Florida and graduated from Taylor County High School. He learned the trades of glass work and welding, working for Watkins Engineering Tool Room and Whiddon Glass before retiring. In 1973, he married the late Jenny Turnage Harry. They were blessed with two daughters; Tracy Lynn Harry, Tammy Harry Barlow (David); 4 grandchildren, Macy Sadler, Marlee Sadler, Russ Barlow and Reed Barlow, all of which survive him today. He is also survived by his sister, Illia Harry Clark, a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends and one great aunt, Louise Weatherly.
A graveside memorial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Boyd Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boyd Methodist Cemetery Fund would be appreciated and may be mailed to P.O. Box 703, Perry, FL, 32348.
Arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry, Florida.
