It is our deepest and heart felt sympathy that we inform you of the passing of Alvin "Stone" Morgan, 67, who passed away on Tuesday, October 7th. A life long resident of Ohio, whose warmth, wit, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Born in Canton on August 28, 1958, a son of the late Alvin Frenches and Ella Mae (Ross) Morgan. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Leomia Gordon. Alvin had a special gift for bringing people together-often around a table he lovingly filled with the meals he crafted from the heart. A masterful chef in his own right, his kitchen was the heartbeat of many family gatherings, and his food was more than nourishment-it was an expression of love. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple weeknight dinner, Alvin found joy in feeding those he cared for. Family was the cornerstone of Alvin's life. He was a steady presence, a quiet protector, and the one who could make even the most ordinary moment feel special. Known for his playful spirit, Alvin had a knack for light-hearted instigation-always in fun, never in malice-eliciting laughter with a wink and a smile. His sense of humor, sharp yet kind, was a gift to all who knew him.
A lifelong fan of old Western TV shows, Alvin appreciated the grit, honor, and simplicity of times past. He found comfort in their dusty landscapes and timeless characters, often quoting his favorites with a twinkle in his eye. Alvin's love extended far beyond people. He had a tender heart for animals, always treating them with compassion and care. But it was with children that his gentleness truly shined. Attentive, patient, and always ready with a joke or a story, Alvin had a way of making kids feel seen and safe. They adored him-and rightly so. To describe Alvin is to speak of a beautiful spirit: generous, loyal, funny, and full of life. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a melody, and his love a legacy. He may no longer walk beside us, but he lives on in every shared memory, every recipe passed down, and every smile sparked by stories of his mischievous charm.
He was deeply loved by his family. He will be deeply missed.
Survived by 4 daughters Cynthia Gaddison, Nakita Morgan, Ariel Morgan, Rachel Grosse; 3 sons Stephan (Nicole) McWhorter, Raheem Gordon, Alvin Gaddison; 2 sisters Barbara Haynes, Vanessa Nash; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece Tabitha (James) Nash-Mclendon; 2 nephews Kevin Nash II, Geno Allen Desree; a special friend Vickie McWorter; as well as other loving family members and friends.
