Alvin J. Turner

Alvin J. Turner, age 72, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at UMMC Hospital. He was born October 4, 1949, in Yazoo City, MS to the late Dixie William Turner and Annie Elizabeth Reed Turner. Alvin loved water skiing, any water sports, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed working in his yard, and fixing things around the house that he built and lived in with Elizabeth. She would often call Alvin and ask him what he was doing, and he would say "Fiddling". No matter whether he was working on a machine or doing something else "Fiddling". Alvin loved his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Alvin is survived by his wife, Elizbeth Turner; children, Tiffany (Richard) Withers, Matt Turner, Amy Steel, and Megan Gearhart; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Caldwell, Madison Withers, Whitney Steel, Tyler Steel, Gage Turner, and Evelyn Gearhart; great-grandchildren, Owen Smith, and Gunner Caldwell; siblings, Dean Dozier, Avie Brock, Lora (Roger) Brock, and Doyle (Edna)Turner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Edna Mosley, Kat Davis, Joy Robbins, and John Turner. No services are being held per Alvin's request.
