He was a business owner of Dalton Industrial Systems for over 30 years. He enjoyed drag racing and being a pilot.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Roberts Whaley; parents, Lucius and Grace Whaley; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Rachel Whaley and brother James Whaley.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndi and Gary Hefner and September and Mark Truelove, all of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Sid Derrick of Dalton; grandchildren, Amber Hefner, Mattie and Robby Chase, Aaron and Jessica Truelove and Casey and Richard Adams; great-grandchildren, Colt Ridley, Emma and Sawyer Chase, Rosalee and Lillian Truelove, Jackson and Ellie Adams; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Donna)Whaley, Kara Oddy, Ryan (Megan) Whaley, Lindsey Derrick.
The family will receive friends at funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 1:00 pm until the service time at 3:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm.
Burial will be in Dawn Rest Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in Alvin's memory to Cohutta Arrows Kingdom Academy.
