Amanda "Mandy" (Chapin) Holley 12/11/1981 – 8/23/2025
It is with immense sadness that we share the news on the passing of our beloved Mandy (Chapin) Holley.
She grew up in the original "quaint" village of Powell, OH, She would spend her time at the Powell Market & Deli, that her family owned, swinging on her makeshift "acrobatic pole". She would watch the vehicles pass through the one stop-light intersection & get to hear the conversations of some of the locals who would stop in the store for a coffee and a sit. She attended school in the Olentangy school district, graduating from Olentangy H.S. with the class of 2000. She couldn't wait to get started with her life, on her terms.
It was a grounded start to a life that would continue to be compassionate, engaged, and very loving. Mandy shared all of those traits with her family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and really, anyone that she would meet. Mandy would pursue her dream and make a successful career as a certified midwife. She trained outside of Asheville, NC where she embraced the lifestyle & happiness of that whole community. She brought her midwifery knowledge back to a wide circle surrounding Columbus, OH. & was a wonderful fit with all of the extremely supportive & compassionate women of C.H.O.I.C.E midwives (Center for Humane Options in Childbirth)
She loved her long time good friends, music, her classic blue truck, travel, cooking, baking, her animals Suja Moose, Tesla & Buddy. The most amazing part of Mandy's life was meeting Steven Holley. They would immediately form an honest & shared life together that would fulfill every need & want in a good marriage & life. They had the same intelligence, dark humor & want for a natural and holistic life. Mandy also loved her new extended family. Steven & Mandy wanted children. They were tireless in their long road to become parents, and were rewarded with beautiful copper haired twin babies, Joni & Arlo. They shared great grief when Arlo did not survive, but he has always been honored for being their child. Joni has been the amazing tonic to that sadness as she shines from the moment she awakens & fills their hearts up everyday. With her immediate family, Mandy was an "integral uniter". She would patiently listen, offer suggestions, organize gatherings & dream of big family & friends parties with everyone there. Mandy was the Best of us.
Mandy's parents are Ron Chapin (Powell, OH), Jana (Chapin) & Dave Potocki (Plain City, OH), brother, Jeremy Chapin, Columbus, OH. Grandmother, Carolyn Turley (Powell, OH), deceased Grandpa Gail D. Turley & deceased Grandma Barb Turley (Worthington, OH) and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins & honorary nieces
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the Kokosing Nature Preserve, 10620 Quarry Chapel Rd., Gambier, OH with Pastor Marvin Hintz officiating.
