Charles Wayne Holley

Charles Wayne Holley passed away in the comfort of his home, Friday, October 3, 2025. Charles was born on March 1, 1951, to JT Holley and Jean Williams in Tyler, Texas.

Charles attended Old High, where he was recognized for being an All-District and All-State football player on the 1969 State Championship team. He graduated in 1970 with a scholarship to play football at Southern State University. He later transferred to Tarleton State University, where he continued to play football and joined the rodeo team.

In 1971, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and re-enlisted in 1973. When his assignment was completed, he returned to Wichita Falls and took up a new career as an electrician for his father-in-law at Browning Electric. He also served on the Wichita Falls Fire Department for 20 years, from 1983 to 2003.

Charles married the love of his life, Delores Ann Polka, on January 12, 1973. They welcomed their first son, Jason, in June of 1976, and Floyd in January of 1983. Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delores, son Jason with wife Kim and their children Hannah and Ethan, son Floyd with wife McKenzie and their sons Adrian and Braxton, sister Janette Holley, cousins Ed May and Holly May Lawson, along with numerous extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl.

Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a love for all things outdoors, cooking out, and spending time with family. He enjoyed hunting trips to Colorado with family and friends. Hobbies also included farming and ranching, and he never missed the opportunity to buy, sell, swap, and trade.

The family will host a casual celebration of life on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2250 Turtle Creek Road, Wichita Falls, from 1-4 pm.
