Amanda Aikman Miraco

Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Chef

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amanda Aikman Miraco, who left us on July 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Amanda was a proud graduate of Coronado High School. Her passion for cooking and bringing people together through food led her to a remarkable career in the culinary arts. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas, she’s had a career full of service. Her culinary career took her from Austin, to Kentucky to California, but here in El Paso she served with distinction as the Executive Chef at Sierra Medical Center, where her creativity and care brought warmth and nourishment to countless lives. Amanda later shared her talent and experience as a Chef Instructor at Riverside High School, where she inspired a new generation of culinary professionals.

Amanda’s life was defined by her deep love for her family and her unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She is survived by her devoted husband, LTC Roland Miraco, U.S. Army, Retired; her cherished son, Gus; and her beloved stepdaughter, Chloe. Amanda also leaves behind her loving parents, Mark and Susie Aikman; her sister, Lindsey Aikman; her brother, Travis Aikman, and of course Joey, the family dog that has been there since the beginning — all of whom she adored and who will forever hold her memory close.

Amanda will be remembered for her generous spirit, sharp wit, wicked sense of humor and the comfort she offered through every meal she prepared and interaction with the many she worked with and taught. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the students she mentored, and the family she loved so fiercely.

Services for Amanda will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Amanda requested that you honor her memory by making a donation to her current high school culinary arts program at Army & Navy Academy, Carlsbad, California.

She was deeply loved, and she will be forever missed.
