Amanda Shirley Obituary Smithsburg, MD Amanda Iciepearl Shirley, 36, of Smithsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on February 11, 1989, in Hagerstown, MD to David and Theresa Shiflett Moats of Falling Waters, WV.
Amanda was a 2007 graduate of Williamsport High School, attended Misericordia University and went on to receive her masters degree in occupational therapy at Shenandoah University in 2013.
She was most recently employed by Westminster Healthcare as an Occupational Therapist. She previously worked at Hagerstown Healthcare and Reeders Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Amanda loved Disney World. She was an avid supporter of Valley Little League and Chewsville Coyotes.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of God in Smithsburg, MD, and was also a childrens church teacher.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband Timothy Shirley, Jr. whom she married on August 22, 2009; son Duncan Shirley and daughter Katie Shirley both at home; sister Cassandra "Cassie" Moats; in-laws Tim and Mary Shirley; sister-in-law Angel Rowe; numerous family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Reuben "Buddy" and Irma Bowman Shiflett; paternal grandparents Kenneth Moats, Sr. and Rachel Kershner; step grandparents Laura Fast-Moats and Fred Kershner.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church of God Smithsburg, MD on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
