Amanda Elizabeth Steele

Amanda Elizabeth Steele, age 32, of Oracle, AZ, and formerly of San Diego, CA and Mechanicsburg, PA, died on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Amanda was born on Friday, April 3, 1992, in Harrisburg, PA to Donald Robert Steele, Jr. and Rebekah (McInroy) Steele. 

 

Amanda’s survivors include her parents: Don Steele, and Becky (McInroy) Steele of Mechanicsburg, PA; her brother, Andrew Donald Steele of Jupiter, FL, and his significant other, Bernadeth Tolentino, of Los Angeles, CA; and her faithful canine companions: Dash and Copper. 

 

Amanda graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 2010 and from West Chester University in 2014. She attended Monaghan Church as a child where she participated in the choir and bell choir. Amanda participated in many sports such as track and field, and soccer.  Starting at a very young age she participated in gymnastics first at the West Shore YMCA and then at Cumberland Gymnastics through her senior year in high school. She went to State and National competitions and finally competed at level 8. During school she was a part of the Technology Student Association where she participated in Math and Science competitions, making it to Nationals several times. Amanda had a love for adventure and enjoyed hiking and camping. For a season she became a zipline instructor. She also went skydiving.  She will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. 

All are welcome to join Amanda’s family at her visitation on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 1:15 p.m. all at Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg, PA 17019. Amanda’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service. Cremation was private.
