Amelia Asher Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Amelia K. Asher was born on August 28, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Arriving a bit earlier than expected at just 33 weeks, she faced immense challenges right from the start. Throughout her journey, Amelia overcame countless obstacles and surgeries while also capturing the hearts of her devoted medical team and her loving moms along the way. Tragically, Amelia passed away on August 1, 2025, at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital, succumbing to complications from congenital heart disease and chronic respiratory failure.
Her smiles were always so contagious, and she was such a happy baby, but she could deliver a side-eye that spoke volumes to those whom she felt were deserving. Amelia had many things she loved and enjoyed, including watching her Dancing Fruit, Bluey, and Disney movies. Among those were her 4:00 a.m. spa nights with her favorite nurses. She loved when her overstimulating moms would comb or play with her head full of hair, paint her nails, and absolutely cherished the daily conversations they had with her.
Her parents, Dani and Allison, are devastated over the loss of their precious girl, who will forever live in the memories of those who were lucky enough to know and love her.
A Go Fund Me has been setup to help assist with the medical expenses incurred throughout her journey, https://gofund.me/53a9a928
