Amelia Kathleen Vann Howard, beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, was called home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, surrounded by love and faith.
The daughter of the late Earl Stanford Vann, Sr. and Alice Davis Vann, Amelia was born in Murfreesboro, NC, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Murfreesboro High School and Chowan College.
Amelia was passionate about keeping up with friends and family, enjoying her music while attending the Scottish festivals, and caring for her beloved cats, indoors or out. She never saw a cat that didn't capture her heart.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Stanford Vann of Rich Square; her sister-in-law, Daphne Vann of Murfreesboro; her niece, Heather Wilson (Jim) and their children Emma and Georgia of Forest, VA; two nephews, John-Michael Vann (Nikki) and their daughter Olivia of Murfreesboro, and Andrew Vann of Murfreesboro; along with many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, a reception will follow with a time of refreshments and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paws of Hertford County, PO Box 153, Murfreesboro, NC 27855 or online by clicking here.
