Amelia (Molly) Thompson 59 of Plainview, Texas transitioned to be with the Lord on November 24,2024. She was born on January 12th 1965 to Mauro and Leonor Rocha in Lubbock, Texas. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She went to school at Roosevelt High School, after graduating she went to South Plains College in Levelland and graduated with her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church in Plainview, Tx. She married the love of her life Chris Thompson on August 30,1997 to this union they had 2 children. She worked for The Department of Health and Human Services as a case worker for 28 years in that time she moved over to Child Protective Services for 4 years upon leaving the Department of Human Services she stayed at home for 2 months and was bored so she became a Substitute Teacher while subbing she decided that is what she loved to do and was hired as the ISS teacher she started at Hillcrest Elementary and North Elementary for Plainview ISD. She loved kids and was always adopting kids as her grandbabies. She was a very loving and caring person and always the best provider for the children she attended. She did not mind working with anyone and was always willing to listen to others about their concerns or problems. She loved watching her 2 children play sports or whatever activity they had going on. She loved rose bushes and always had a green thumb when it came to plants. She was loved by everyone but they also knew she would tell you like it is no pulling punches if you ask her a question she would tell you what she thought always being honest with you about anything you asked her about.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Chris and there 2 children Chris Jr (CJ) and Aaliyah; her brother Mauro and his wife Julia Rocha, of Lubbock, Texas their 3 children, Dominic, and his wife of Big Spring, Texas, Christopher of Lubbock, Texas and Vanessa and her husband(Daniel) of Lubbock, Texas and their children; her adopted brother Timothy Shepard of Lubbock, Texas; her nephew Matthew (Joey) and his wife Alyssa Rocha and their 4 kids all of Lubbock, Texas; her Sister-in-law Lori Rocha of Cedar Park, Texas and her children; her sisters-in-law Zelma, Annette and Cynthia all of Amarillo, Texas, Carla of Plainview, Texas and Elayne of Houston, Texas; 3 brothers-in-law, Calvin and Craig of South Dakota and Ray Harris of Dallas, Texas; best friends Isabell, Lucy and Herminia and family; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Molly is Preceded in death by her parents, Mauro and Leonor Rocha; brothers Ronnie, Joe, and Homer; sisters Mary and Ida; a nephew Joshua and her best friend Maria Armendariz.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with father George Poonely officiating. Interment will be held at Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
