Obituary: André Peters Presendieu August 8, 1931 – July 20, 2025 With profound sadness and hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, André Peters Presendieu, on July 20, 2025, at the age of 93. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, prayer, and the comforting presence of his family. Born on August 8, 1931, in Liancourt, Haiti, André lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, and quiet dignity. In 1956, he worked as a heavy truck operator for Brown & Root on the construction of the Péligre Hydroelectric Dam on Haiti's Artibonite River. He also worked for ODVA in the Artibonite region, again as a heavy truck operator. His strong work ethic and determination led him to become a respected entrepreneur. Twenty years ago, he built a modern rice mill facility in Liancourt, which continues to operate today, a legacy to his vision and dedication to his hometown. In 1978, André Peters immigrated to the United States and settled in
New Rochelle, New York, where he remained for the rest of his life. Although he applied for U.S. citizenship, he passed before the final interview. Still, his journey is a powerful testimony to the immigrant spirit and the pursuit of a better future for one's family. He married Jeannine Théophile on July 14, 1955. Together, they shared decades of love and family. Jeannine passed away on June 22, 2021.
