Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc. of Iron RiverAndrea S. McQuown, 84, of Iron River, MI, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Andrea was born on June 30, 1941, in Norway, MI, the daughter of the late Andrew and Eda (Spigarelli) Vicenzi. She attended the Iron Mountain and Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1959.
Andrea married Barrett E. McQuown in 1962 at St. Agnes Catholic Church and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 2012. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2019.
She was employed as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Peter Marana, DDS, for six years and later was employed by the TOSU Corporation (known as Riverside Pizzeria and Dina Mia Kitchens). In her early years, she worked in the office of U.P. Power.
Andrea was a member of the VFW Ottawa Post #3134 Auxiliary and the Alfred Branchini Post #17 Auxiliary. She enjoyed many bowling trips and tournaments with friends. Retirement activities included hiking, biking, snowshoeing, camping, and traveling the U.P. in their motor home, searching for waterfalls.
Andrea is survived by her daughter, Tracy (John) Lynn of Sammamish, WA; her son, James (Melanie) McQuown of Byron Center, MI; grandchildren, Sierra Lynn and Aidan and Ariel McGrath; brothers, Dennis Vicenzi of Iron Mountain, MI and Paul Vicenzi of Ishpeming, MI; sisters, Susan Fielitz of Chicago, IL and Janice (Richard) Jankowiak of Bay City, MI; as well as extended family including many cherished nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery. Alfred Branchini Post 17 American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a Poppy Ceremony at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Locker Lunch, 751 North Fourth Avenue, Iron River, Michigan 49935.
