Andreas John Theodorou

Andreas (Andy) John Theodorou, 85, of Hamilton Sq., NJ, passed away on March 25th surrounded by his loving family.He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Zenovia; his two daughters, Mary (Maria) and Joanne; his son-in-law, Spiro Hadjiyerou; two grandchildren, George Andreas and Zena Maria; and many nieces and nephews from the United States and Greece.Andreas was born in Pireaus, Greece, the oldest son of the late Maria and John Theodorou and sibling of the late Makis and Vasiliki. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 after serving in the Merchant Marines under the auspices of both the Greek and U.S. Coast Guards, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1960. Andreas was very proud of both his Greek heritage and his American nationality.He was a mechanical engineer, employed by the Homasote Co. for over 33 years. Andreas was an extremely social and gregarious man who enjoyed the company of his many friends whom he entertained with his humorous antidotes. He will be greatly missed.Viewing hours will be on Monday, March 28th from 6:00 to 8:30PM at M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ, 08619. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 11AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd in Hamilton, NJ 08619. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
