Andrew Mason Brangenberg, 82, entered eternal rest June 10, 2025, after several years of declining health. He was born March 23, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., and his family moved to Absecon, N.J., before he started school. His adult years were spent in Gaithersburg, Md.; Columbus, Ohio; and most recently, Rehoboth Beach, Del. Andy was easy-going, humble, and kind. He was always ready to pitch in and help with the task at hand - typically with a smile and sometimes, a joke. He was a 1961 graduate of Pleasantville (N.J.) High School. He enlisted in the Navy Reserve toward the end of his junior year, entered active duty in September 1961 and served in the Navy through August 1963. Andy attended Antonelli School of Photography. His career included various positions in graphic arts and printing, and he retired in 2005 as a press operator for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Andy had served as vice president of Columbus (Ohio) Prime Timers and was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church and CAMP Rehoboth, both of Rehoboth Beach, Del. He enjoyed golf, bowling and travel. He is survived by his husband of 11 years, David Hagelin of Rehoboth Beach; his brother, Gerard (Tina) Brangenberg of Ocean View, N.J.; nieces Lynn (Bud) Meighan, Dr. Trish (Brad) Kridler, Ginger (Leela) Gaffney, Gretchen (Lance) Bischoff, and Dr. Naya (Jeremy) Brangenberg; many great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great nieces and a great- great-nephew; his sister-in-law, Dr. Patricia (Jonathan) Kelley; and special friend Jeffrey McGuire of Lewes, Del. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Virginia Brangenberg; his sister, Judy Primoli; niece Kathleen (Charlie) Gaffney; and longtime partner Robert Coolidge. Gratitude is expressed to the staff of Excelcare at Lewes, where Andy experienced compassionate care in his final weeks. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist church, Rehoboth Beach. Visitation for family and friends will start at noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Epworth UMC, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, Del., 19971.
