Andrew Reid "Andy" Cheek

CHAPEL HILL: Andrew "Andy" Reid Cheek, age 70 of Chapel Hill NC passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Andy was born in Coronado, California and was the son of the late Glen Reid Cheek and Virginia Johnson Cheek. He was a teacher with the Durham County Public School System for 5 years. He then became a master plumber and recently retired in 2022. He loved music, especially Little Feat, playing the drums and jamming with his fellow musicians. He always enjoyed his time with his buddies at Bull Mountain Hunting Club. He had a wicked sense of humor, but underneath he had a kind heart. He was always there to help family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish Andy's memory are his wife, Carol Lawrence Cheek of the home; daughter, Ashley Renee Cheek and husband Dusty Harris of Burlington, NC; and sister, Patricia Ann Mazarick and husband Phil Mazarick of Apex, NC. Also left to treasure his memory are a group of wonderful friends.
There will be no memorial service. A celebration of his life will be held in the fall. A date and place to be determined.
