Andrew M. Elsaid

Andrew M. Elsaid, 29, of Auburn, who was everyone's bright shining light, died peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Monday, January 23, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Anne (Looney) Elsaid of Auburn, MA and Michael Elsaid of Wellesley, MA, and beloved brother of Olivia Elsaid of Cambridge, MA. He is survived by his loving family including uncles, aunts and cousins both here and in Egypt.
Andrew graduated from Auburn High School in the class of 2012 and from Bentley University, class of 2016. At Bentley he was a co-founder and co-president of the Bentley Wall Street Club, volunteered with Bentley Service Learning, and was a class Cabinet Member and Vice President.
Andrew began his business career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse in New York City and later worked at GCM Grosvenor as a Private Equity Associate focused on Pension Fund Management.
He was a talented soccer player, playing in Auburn Youth Soccer and Premier Soccer with FC United and Synergy FC. He played with the Auburn High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team where he was a co-captain senior year, and went on to play for Bentley University Men's Soccer Team.
Andrew found joy in the game of soccer, with his team members, coaches, management staff, and the families supporting the teams. He was a devoted fan of Manchester United and enjoyed watching Premier League games with his friends.
He fought a valiant battle with a rare Sarcoma for over four years, while still pursuing all his joys in life and facing this unthinkable challenge with constant positivity and perseverance. His infectious smile, courage, and compassion impacted everyone who met him. During some of his toughest days, Andrew took every opportunity in life – continuing to build his career, spending time by the beach in Maine, traveling to places like France, Greece, LA, and Miami, and always prioritizing time with his family and close friends. To honor Andrew, his family and friends will finish his initial work of creating the Andrew Sarcoma Foundation to further education and research to find a cure for this disease that affects too many young adults and children.

Andrew's family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and care teams that cared for him, particularly at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and the 8 North and Palliative Care teams at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Andrew's family on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A celebration of his life and burial will be held privately for his family.
