Andrew Ginger Obituary

Andrew Ryan Ginger

October 25, 1983 - June 30, 2024

Andrew Ryan Ginger, 40, of Jefferson City, entered into Heavenly rest Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was born October 25, 1983, in Grand Island, Nebraska, a son of Tracey Lee Ginger and Joyce Annette (Keyes) Beard. Andrew was a graduate of Sioux City East High School in Sioux City, Iowa, and went on to attend Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa & Metro Culinary School in Omaha, Nebraska.

Throughout his career, Andrew served in various positions in the Restaurant Industry over the years. He had a passion for drawing & painting, a skill he inherited from his Uncle Scott. He loved to cheer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (yes, before Tom Brady), St. Louis Blues, Atlanta Braves and most notably the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He wasn't shy about razzing his friends who were Iowa Hawkeye fans. His favorite activity was preparing and cooking delicious meals for his family & friends and he loved to create new recipes.

Andrew loved being with family whether it was relaxing at Lake of the Ozarks, enjoying a card or board game during the holidays, fishing, watching a movie or conversing and holding court on one of many topics. To test his endurance or because he had the opportunity to get a Dove chocolate bar at every stop, he even rode his bicycle (at least part of the way) across the state of Iowa with his father, Grandpa Bob, Uncle Scott, Aunt Sandy and brother Tony during RAGBRI.

Andrew had an incredibly soft heart and his love for animals was very apparent. He was a favorite dog sitter and his two best friends were his pet bunnies Magic and Houdini.

Andrew is survived by his mother & step-father: Joyce & Mike Beard of Jefferson City, MO; his father: Tracey Ginger of Papillion, NE; four brothers: Tony Ginger (Molli), Corey Beard, Nick Ginger (Hannah), Jack Ginger (Ashley); two sisters: Cassandra Beard (Evan Wolff), Courtney Tinch (Bret); paternal grandparents: Janice Beard, Joyce Wieck; and maternal grandparents: Rose Fosler, Irvin Hayek.

Andrew was preceded in death by his step-mother: Sharon Ginger; maternal grandparents: Ruth Keyes & Duane Keyes; paternal grandparents: Raymond Beard, Bob Ginger & Bobbie Ginger.
