Andrew (Andy) J. Greenler, age 32, of New Orleans, LA and formerly of Marshall Township, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Andy is the much-loved son of Lisa (Hatajik) and Daniel Philip Greenler of Sewickley, PA; brother of Robert John Greenler of Nashville, TN and Maria Kathleen Greenler of Lititz, PA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. John J. Greenler and Gertrude Leary Greenler; Joseph D. Hatajik, Sr. and Agnes Skoda Hatajik; and by his cousin Donald J. Anthony.
Andrew graduated from North Allegheny High School in 2009. He played trombone for the North Allegheny Marching Band as well as the jazz and concert bands throughout high school. One of his favorite memories was marching at the 2009 Inauguration parade for President Barack Obama. He participated in Track & Field and had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Andrew also enjoyed skiing, reading and was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan. Andy moved to New Orleans in 2019, where he worked as a cook in many of the restaurants. His favorite things about New Orleans were the food, jazz music and especially fishing the bayou with his closest friends.
Friends and Family will be received at the Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 on Friday, July 28 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 10am in Saints John & Paul Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent directly to Harbor Light Center which is a specific program within The Salvation Army in Pittsburgh.
