Andrew Linwood Kidd passed away at the age of 50 on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Andy came into this world as the greatest gift and treasure to our family with his gentle spirit, kindness, incredible strength, and love that touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a fighter who quietly rose above and endured the many challenges he faced in his life on his terms, his way. He withstood the ever-increasing burden of these challenges with acceptance, determination, and devotion without complaint and never broken. His smile, wit, selfless generosity, unconditional love, and pure joy of life were our family's anchor, a center of calmness and optimism through the storms.
Andy, you will live forever in our hearts and your spirit will forever guide us through the storms. We love you, your enormous heart, and celebrate the peace in which you now reside.
He was predeceased by his father Norwood T. Kidd and his stepfather Vernon R. Rockett, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Linda M. Rockett, his sisters Laura Geister (son Aaron and grandson Owen) and Corie Rockett, his brothers William Geister and Vernon Rockett III (sons Vernon and Elijah), his cousins Amy Parker (husband Donnie and son Chandler) and Mary Beth (and family). He is also survived by Keagan, his faithful dog and companion.
A Wake Service will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA.
