Andrew "Andy" Shuluga,81, passed away suddenly September 12, 2025. Andy was born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 3, 1943, son of Andrew and Anna Shuluga. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1961.
On October 7, 1966, Andy married the love of his life, Andrea (Saxon) Shuluga. Together, they built a life rooted in family, hard work, and devotion. Andy leaves behind Andrea, of nearly 59 years, his loving daughter, Angela Neverman and the two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Braden and Kenley. He is also survived by brother Allan (Karen) Shuluga, sisters: Audrey (Ken) Smith and Anita (Jerry) Schmitt, Sister-in-Law Marianne Yacoub; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
In his younger years, Andy was a professional bowler, achieving several perfect 300 games: a reflection of his skill and determination. He later went on to become a sharp and successful businessman, operating multiple ventures including a restaurant, bar, mini storage facilities and office building. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his love for the outdoors.
Andy's happiest moments were spent outside; whether on his properties in West Virginia and Ohio or soaking in the sunshine on the beach in Florida. If you couldn't find him, chances are he was on a tractor, excavator, skid steer, side by side or 4-wheeler, working the land he loved. But above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly taught Braden and Kenley to hunt, both harvesting deer their very first time out, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, whether it was Braden playing football under the Friday night lights or Kenley lighting up the sidelines with her cheerleading. He encouraged them to chase their passions wholeheartedly and took pride in every step of their journeys.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Andy poured his heart into his family. His generosity and warmth were unmatched; his "retreat" in West Virginia became a gathering place where countless family and friends created lifelong memories together.
Andy will be remembered as a man with a heart of gold, a tireless worker, and a family man whose love left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His life was one well lived, full of love, laughter, and purpose.
Forever in our hearts.
Friends may join the family on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 9633 OH-37, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m.
