In Loving Memory of Andrew Osborn Suttee
July 29, 1999 – October 24, 2024
Andrew Osborn Suttee, born on July 29, 1999, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away
due to complications from his chemotherapy treatment while battling testicular cancer on
October 24, 2024, surrounded by his family, love, and cherished memories.
The youngest of three in a proud Marine Corps family, Andrew's childhood was one of
adventure and fortitude, moving between North Carolina, Virginia, Australia, and California. His
life was enriched by a deep connection to family, diverse cultures, and a love for animals that
never waned.
Andrew was a quiet yet strong leader, a captain on both his football and cross-country teams.
His passion extended beyond the field to his hobbies-crafting intricate LEGO masterpieces,
watching movies, playing video games with friends, and cheering fervently for his beloved
Philadelphia Eagles
Quick with a smile and possessing an open heart for all people, his sharp sense of humor was
matched only by his penchant for graphic t-shirts, colorful socks, and hoodies.
An adventurer at heart, Andrew embraced life's opportunities, from whitewater rafting and
mountain climbing to traveling with friends and classmates on unforgettable trips to the United
Kingdom and Japan. These experiences reflected his thirst for knowledge, culture, and new
perspectives.
As a graduate student at North Carolina State University, Andrew found his calling in
international relations, a field where his compassionate nature and global outlook would have
flourished. He was well on his way to making a difference in the world through diplomacy and
understanding.
Andrew is survived by his loving parents, Leland and Valerie Suttee, and his devoted sisters,
Elisabeth (partner Michael Webster), and Rachel, as well as his grandparents, Butch and Ann
Suttee, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He is
preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Alladee Settles, and his aunt Leslie
Shanahan.
Andrew's legacy is one of kindness, quiet strength, and an adventurous spirit that touched
everyone fortunate enough to know him. His family invites those who knew him to honor his
memory by embracing life's journeys and sharing moments with loved ones.

In Japan, me and Andrew tried to leave Cup Noodle after decorating our cups but not getting our noodles. We were told by a sweet Japanese lady - who spoke no English - to get back in the elevator because we would not be able to leave without the noodles in our cup. Inside the elevator, we burst out into laughter.
