Andrew Joseph Williamson, 50, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on October 6, 2025, at Columbus Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 4, 1975, in Richmond, Indiana, Andrew was the cherished son of Aggie and Joseph Williamson and grew up with a deep sense of family and compassion for others.
Andrew graduated with honors from Center Grove High School in 1994 and attended Wabash College for two years, where his intelligence and curiosity shone. He built a meaningful career as an occupational therapist assistant, where his dedication to helping others made a lasting impact.
Andrew's true joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved son, Ben Williamson, and his wife, Sara. A passionate sports enthusiast, he loved cheering for his favorite teams – Hoosiers, Colts, Pacers, and Reds and sharing that excitement with those around him. His commitment to helping those less fortunate was a cornerstone of his life, always extending a hand to anyone in need.
Known for his generous heart and infectious kindness, Andrew was the kind of person who would drop everything to help a friend or stranger. His love for animals, especially dogs, was evident in the warmth he showed every creature he met. His presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.
Andrew is survived by his devoted wife, Sara Williamson; his son, Ben Williamson; his parents, Aggie and Joseph Williamson; his brother Mickey Williamson, Mickey's wife Angie, and their sons Jacob and Joey Williamson; his brother Beau Williamson, Beau's wife Brooke, and their children Addi and Luke Williamson; and his niece, Jo Lynn Bogard and her daughters Kimora and Amira.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tyler Williamson.
A celebration of Andrew's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 with visitation from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local animal shelter or a charity supporting those in need, in honor of Andrew's compassionate spirit. Andrew's legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
