Rebecca "Becky" Elizabeth (Foust) Winton passed away peacefully at her home on May 10, 2025. Becky had a beautiful and loving spirit that touched more lives than anyone will ever know. Becky was born November 23, 1980 to James Foust and Carolyn (Pugh) Foust. During her younger years, Becky blossomed into a well-rounded woman with many passions including traveling with friends and family and playing cello in the Center Grove High School Orchestra (Class of '99) and the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra. Becky was incredibly talented as a musician-something she prided herself on throughout her life. During her high school summers, Becky often traveled to Athens, Greece, along with her father and other family members. All who knew her understood that these were among her most cherished memories.
Becky had an insatiable desire for learning and caring for others. She earned her BA in English from Butler in 2003, BS in Nursing from IU in 2006, PhD in Nursing from IU in 2018 and FNP from Indiana Wesleyan in 2022. Her passion for learning extended into others, as an adjunct lecturer at IU School of Nursing, well as Professional Learning and Clinical Program Development with a nationwide home healthcare company.
Most were surprised by Becky's wide range of hobbies and interests. She never lost her love of music, continuing to play piano, cello and even fulfilling her dream of learning to play the harp. She had a love for animals, from riding dressage in her youth to spending time with her dogs and watching the birds on the feeders through the kitchen window. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, scrapbooking, traveling with her family, love of flowers and gardening, drawing nature, cooking with her husband and baking. Her joy for learning about new things was never-ending, including wanting to learn to sail and play golf.
Becky is survived by her husband Kyle, children Benjamin Helton -19, Brennan Guilkey-13, Ainslie Winton-20, and Braxton Winton-19, sister Sheryl (Foust) Morgan, brother William Foust, Father James Foust and Mother Carolyn (Pugh) Foust.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra at 32 E. Washington Street, Suite 950 Indianapolis, IN. 46204 or the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Indiana via their website at https://www.alz.org/indiana
