William Andrew "Andy" Daffron, Jr., 62, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on February 2, 2026, at UAB hospital from a recent illness. Born March 20, 1963, n Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Andy spent his entire life in the city that he loved and leaves behind many lifelong friendships and a legacy of much generosity and kindness.

Services will be at 2 pm on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Micheal Keeble officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park located at 5434 Old Birmingham Hwy. Tuscaloosa, AL 35404, with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Andy is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Glenda Durden Daffron and his daughter Laura Daffron Taylor and son-in-law Andrew; grandchildren Stella and Grady Logan and Josie and Drew Taylor; stepdaughter Candace Paige Fikes (Kyle) and step-grandchildren, Cooper, Sadie, Korlee and Jordy Fikes along with many loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Andrew Daffron, Sr., and Estelle Hartin Daffron and stepson Jordan Durden.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. To live in the hearts of others is not to die.

Andy was a kind-hearted person to many friends and co-workers at Mercedes Benz, where he worked for the past 32 years. He had many hobbies throughout the years with Boy Scouts of America being one of them where he followed the footsteps of his father and touched the lives of many young people. He and life-long friend Trace Neighbors were Scoutmasters for Troop 43, a Troop that Andy's father, Bill Daffron, started many years ago in Tuscaloosa.

For many years, Andy owned a personal business M & M Sports, where he built trophies and printed shirts, hats and other memorabilia for a wide variety of sports teams throughout Alabama. Often you would find Andy and Glenda with their family and friends enjoying their cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN where he made many fond memories from early childhood until January of this year.

But most of all, Andy adored spending time with his family. Some of his happiest moments were at ballparks watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball or participating in a local beauty pageant or helping Glenda with the details of holding pageants and beauty walks through Magical Moments Formal Attire.

Andy loved piddling on his farm and riding on his tractor or fishing and hunting with his grandchildren. Through the years he was an active member of Alberta Methodist Church, Northport Baptist and currently Valley View Baptist Church. He lived a life full of friends, family and helping others. He touched many lives and will be missed by all.

Pallbearers include cousins, Mark Whitson, Ryan Whitson, Taylor Whitson, David Dickey and Joseph Rose, and long-time friends Trace Neighbors, Rusty Barton, Carl Hurst and Tom Wagner.

Honorary pallbearers include friends of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International (MBUSI), DCH Regional Medical Center, Magical Moments Formal Attire and Brock Corder. Also, his high school friends Aaron Reed, Brian Oswalt, David Parr, Grant Jacobs, and Paul Wood, and Neal Thompson who all enjoyed staying in touch over the years.

Andy also loved helping anyway he could with Eagles Wings this organization held a special place in his heart.
