Andy McGuire, 73, of Biddeford Maine passed away on July 23, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1951, to Roy and Norma Fern McGuire in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and Spring Hill, Kansas.
Andy graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1969 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army. While in the Army he was stationed in Japan, Hawaii, and Texas. He served during the Vietnam War and served as a lab technician. While stationed in Texas, he met his wife, Kathleen Beaudoin. They married on April 1, 1977 in Biddeford and resided in Kansas for several years before locating to Biddeford, Maine.
Andy and Kathleen had three children: Elaine, Bonnie, and Brenda and raised their children in Biddeford. Andy worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the machine shop and supply department.
Andy is predeceased by his parents Roy and Norma Fern. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of Biddeford; his three daughters Elaine and husband Tim Paquette of Saco, Bonnie of Sanford, and Brenda and husband Ryan Keller of Augusta; five grandchildren: Caleb, Isaac, Leah, Keira, and Molly; one great-granddaughter Paisley; his brother Larry and wife Debbie of Tarpon Springs, FL; and 2 nieces and a nephew.
Andy loved spending time with family, reading books, listening to bluegrass music, and playing text twist word games. He was a lifelong learner always interested in history and science and enjoyed telling stories and reminiscing about life.
To honor Andy's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Please consider a memorial donation to the VHL Family Alliance, a non-profit organization that was important to Andy.
