Andrew “Andy” Thomas Scheppers, age 34, of Holts Summit, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 due to heart failure. He was born April 3, 1990 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Thomas and Karen (Broker) Scheppers.
Growing up, Andy helped out at his family’s machine shop. He attended St. Peter Interparish School and belonged to Troop 4, Boy Scouts of America. Andy proudly earned his Eagle Scout in 2008 and he was a 2008 graduate of Helias Catholic High School. Throughout high school, he worked as a sales associate at Staples.
He then attended the University of Missouri, Columbia in pursuit of an engineering degree like his father and grandfather. He graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics in December of 2013. After college, he worked for the State of Missouri as an Information Technologist. After several years, he went to work as an Operations Engineer at AeroMet. He was currently employed at Hitachi Energy as an Applications Development Specialist.
Andy has always stayed close with his family and has made many friends throughout his life. Although he didn’t like to go out much, Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whether it was watching movies, playing games, or just hanging out. He loved video games, strategic board and card games, and anything that goes “bang”. His passion was for computers, and he was a very talented app developer. Andy was extremely caring of others, and his spontaneous sense of humor could make anyone laugh. His smile could always brighten your day. Despite his allergies, he loved fall weather and hanging out outside when the weather cooled off. He had a special appreciation for animals and wildlife and had two beloved cats at home. He was loved by many and will be so deeply missed.
Andy is survived by his parents, Thomas and Karen Scheppers; two sisters, Danielle Webber (Donald) and Kelsey Winters (Matt) and their son, Silas, and his brother, Aaron Scheppers, all of Holts Summit, MO. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Gerry Broker of Frankenstein, MO. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Rosemary Scheppers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
