Anestin Augustin, 74, of Stratford, CT a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted man of faith, passed away peacefully at his home, on July 9, 2025, just one week before his 75th birthday.
Born in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, on July 16, 1950, Anestin was the cherished son of the late Orestal Augustin and Saint Therese Inalien. He pursued his passion for ministry and service by earning a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the Université Adventiste d'Haïti.
A lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Anestin served faithfully as an elder at the Ephraim SDA Church, where he was also one of the founding members. He had the honor of choosing the church's name-one of the many ways his leadership and vision left a lasting legacy. His sermons were especially loved, always filled with humor and lighthearted jokes that touched hearts while bringing smiles to the congregation.
A man of many talents, Anestin had a deep love for music and was gifted in playing several instruments, including the guitar, trumpet, and recorder. Through music, ministry, or simple conversation, he shared wisdom, warmth, and humor with everyone he met. His disciplined yet gentle nature, kindness, and honesty made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Anestin is survived by his wife, Lorsa Gue Augustin, and his three children: Mr. Aschbel James Augustin and his wife, Mrs. Daline Josep, of Naugatuck, CT; Dr. Neslyne Belinda Augustin and her husband Marc-Arthur Cadet, of Valdosta, GA.; and Mrs. Rolinsay Weaver and her husband, Mr. Bryan Weaver, of Norwich, CT. His treasured grandchildren-Jaren Augustin, Ashleen Augustin, Leanna Sainvil, Ray Cadet, and Max Cadet-carry on his legacy.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Ephraim French Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3160 Park Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604. Family and friends may view at the church at 10a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, Connecticut
