Angela LaBar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGeehan Funeral Homes Keck-Coleman Chapel on Jul. 21, 2024.
Angela Sue "Angie" LaBar, a life long resident of St. Johns, Michigan died at her home on July 19, 2024 at the age of 56. Born on June 3, 1968 the daughter of Richard "Butch" Myszak and LouAnn (Keck) Myszak, Angie grew up in St. Johns where she was a 1986 graduate of St. Johns High School. She obtained her dental degree from Ferris State University and has enjoyed working as a Registered Dental Assistant with DeWitt Dental Associates for over twenty-seven years. On February 16, 1991 she married her high school sweetheart, Rick LaBar. Together they were blessed with the births of two sons.
Angie lived her life in a way that left a profound, positive impact on those around her. Her essence was most profoundly displayed in the unwavering love she held for her family. She protected and nurtured those dear to her heart, with her husband and two sons being the center of her world. She was the embodiment of selflessness, always there for others in their time of need. Her generosity knew no bounds; she even gave her kidney to her father and guided her sons when they decided to follow in her footsteps, supporting each other in the same way. She was joy, often singing songs to which she didn't know the words, spreading cheer and happiness. Affectionately known as Gigi or Aunt Gigi by many, her warm and welcoming personality was reflected in her common greeting, "Hi sunshine." She was a steadfast supporter of U of M football, her husband's sports coaching, and her sons' athletic pursuits across football, baseball, tennis, and basketball. She had a knack for making others feel loved and cherished, ensuring they knew their importance in her life. Her loving relationship with her daughter-in-law, Kayleigh, was characterized by enjoyable outings and cherished playdates. Angie loved hunting season; though she did not hunt, she took charge from her house, preparing food for the hunters, keeping an eye out for deer, and sending text updates about the herd and football game scores.
The beach was her favorite place, particularly the shores of Lake Michigan in White Hall, Michigan. She cherished time spent in her flip-flops with family and friends and the MacArthurs at the beach, celebrating 4th of Julys, enjoying summers, and watching sunsets. Angie loved traditions and took great pride in her role as an aunt and hosting holidays. Her flower gardens around her house were so beautiful they looked fake, showcasing her love for nature and her meticulous care. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to Rick, her beloved husband of thirty-three years, she leaves her sons, Bryce LaBar, and his wife Kayleigh, and Brock LaBar; her mother, LouAnn Myszak; sister, Amy (Ed) Moats; brother, Rick (Susie) Myszak; in-laws, Debbie (Jeff) Davis and Brian (Amy) LaBar; nephews and nieces, Kyle (Melissa) Fox, Kelsey Fox, Bobbie-Sue Myszak, Tucker (Natalie) Myszak, Billie Jo Myszak, Josie Myszak, Lane Myszak, Taylor Davis, Hailey (Nate) Kurth, Brennan LaBar, and Callie LaBar; dear friends, John and Julie MacArthur and their children, Emily, Jack, & Matthew, and many other dear friends, extended family members, and colleagues at DeWitt Dental Associates. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard "Butch" Myszak, and father and mother-in-law, Les and Kathy LaBar.
A Funeral Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Thursday, July 25, at 11AM with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. A luncheon will follow at Agro Liquid. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 24, from 3-8PM and on Thursday, from 10AM until the time of service.
