An amazing lady, Angela Hefner Sherrill, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 after a two and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Angela was born September 17, 1947, in Charlotte, NC. Her family lived in the Wilmore neighborhood on Merriman Avenue and later moved to a house on Walker's Ferry Road in western Mecklenburg County. She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1965 with aspirations of becoming a nurse. Angela studied at the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, during which time she met her husband William (Bill) Thomas Sherrill on a blind date. They married at The Little Church On The Lane in Charlotte on December 28, 1968.
Angela's most cherished part of life was her family. She loved being a wife, a mother to her three children, Jennifer, Beth and Kevin, and a "Nana" to her five grandchildren, Caroline, Sarah Kate, Jackson, Blake and Brendan. She fostered a family that always had a home to return to, and she also encouraged them to reach their fullest potential and follow their dreams. She always said as a mother and grandmother it was her duty "to give them roots, so that they could spread their wings". Her wings certainly spread as the matriarch of her family, but also in all that she did due to her passion and love for life. She was an incredibly caring nurse, a very successful realtor, a wonderful seamstress, an amazing cook, an impeccable social dancer, all while being the best Wife, Mom, and Nana her family could ask for.
Anyone that knew Angela knew that her heart was always the biggest in the room, her strength was unmatched, and her joy was always tangible. From the very start to the very end, Angela lived her life being generous, kind, and loving. While she fought one of the greatest fights a human can fight in her final years of life, pancreatic cancer, she still smiled and carried herself through it all with her strength and kindness.
Even when she felt at her worst, Angela would always say these things to those around her: "Thank You", "You are Beautiful", "You're Wonderful", and "I love you". To honor Angela would be to travel and take in all the sights with wonder; to celebrate the little things and laugh without hesitation; to love and do so unconditionally; to make delicious food and enjoy it; to smile from the inside out; to dance like nobody is watching; to create and explore freely; to give to others generously; to love your family fiercely and always say "I love you".
The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2:00 PM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville with a visitation following. The private interment will be at Northlake Memorial Gardens.

She was a good neighbor and loved her husband and kids. I used to like to see Angela and Bill talking their walk around Stoney Point. Rest in peace and find comfort in the arms of our Savior.

One of my first memories of her was when I was in the hospital. I had surgery and when she brought me to my room she picked me up to put me in bed. As she spun around I put my finger up, twirled it and said Weeee.
