Clifford Russell (C.R.) Farris, age 90, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 while in the care of Huntersville Novant Health Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. C.R. was born on Saturday, June 4, 1935 in Eatonton, GA to Russell Clifford and Irma Iola (Black) Farris. He was married for 65 years to Evelyn (Christy) Farris. C.R. graduated from Mt. Holly High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962. He was a devout member of First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Holly, NC where he served as a Deacon and sat in the last pew on the left side of the church with his family for most Sundays. He was also a member of Westgate Masonic Lodge and proudly wore his Masonic ring. During his career, he worked as a purchasing agent and warehouse manager for A&P Tea Company for 32 years and later as a warehouse manager for Empire Wine Distributors. C.R. was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Payton and grandson Sullivan. They were the light of his life and he was always involved in their activities, sports and interests. He also loved watching NASCAR and was blessed to have many lifelong friends and neighbors. He looked forward to his 9:00 AM coffee social with his Kinnamon Park guys when he could. C.R. is predeceased by his parents and sister, Brenda Sue Loftin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Evelyn Farris, his daughter Angela Jackson and her husband Jay, his brother Billy Charles Farris and his wife Judy, and sister Frances Farris Wingate. In addition to his grandchildren, he was beloved by many special nieces and nephews who cared for him over the years. A celebration of C.R.'s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church, 133 South Main Street, Mount Holly, NC 28120. A receiving will follow the service in the church Fellowship Hall. The family would like to extend thanks to the loving caregivers from Home Careolina, who made C.R.'s last years more enjoyable. Above all, C.R. served the Lord first and practiced the belief of What Would Jesus Do. The Family requests that memorial contributions be made in CR's name to: First Presbyterian Church 133 South Main Street Mount Holly, NC 28120 or St Jude Children's Hospital https://www.stjude.org or The charity of one's choice.
