A gathering of family and friends to honor the life of Angela "Angie" Smith, 79, of Wills Point, TX, will be held from 6:00–8:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Angie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.
Angela Kay Smith was born on April 24, 1946, in Topeka, KS, to Carl Smith and Sara Tutt Smith. She spent her childhood in various cities and states as her father worked as a civilian military contractor. Angie graduated from high school in Alabama and later completed secretarial college, launching a career in administrative work.
She moved to the Wills Point community in the early 1980s to be near her sister, Sandra, and to raise her daughter, Jamie. Angie worked in payroll and administrative roles for Dealer's Choice Auto Care, Vanderhorst in Terrell, and later Wilco in Wills Point, where she eventually retired.
A devoted member of Russell Memorial Methodist Church, Angie was known for her love of reading, fishing, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Sara Smith, and her sisters, Sue Anderson and Sandra Brown.
Angie is survived by her beloved daughter, Jamie D'Amico of Celeste, TX; her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Clinton and husband Morgan, Ally D'Amico, Jordan D'Amico, Cooper D'Amico, and Emily D'Amico; and her adored great-grandchildren, Isla Clinton, Lee Clinton, and Eli Clinton.
