A memorial service for James "Deke" Archer, 54, of Seagoville, TX, will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2025, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Deke passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Dallas.

James Deacon Archer was born on March 12, 1971, in Garland, TX, to mother, Gayle Miller Stanton. He was raised in Mesquite where he attended North Mesquite High School. Deke worked in construction in all of the DFW area and was later employed with McClean Mechanical working in HVAC.

Deke was a simple man who enjoyed football, NASCAR, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Lucile Miller of the Hayden Turner Community, and Claud and Juanita Hill of Joplin, MS; as well as his cousins, Tony Smith and Kasey King.

Deke is survived by his parents, Gayle and Blake Stanton of Union Valley, TX; sons, Dustin Archer and Chase Archer, both of Seagoville, TX; daughter, Katlyn Conallis of Oklahoma; brother, Josh Archer of Crandall, TX; grandchildren, Jameson Archer and Madison Archer; nephews, Bryce Archer and Brody Archer; along with numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
