Angela M. Weaver, a beacon of generosity and a paragon of selflessness, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024, in Grosse Pointe City, Michigan. Born on April 10, 1934, in Detroit, Angela lived a remarkable life marked by her thoughtful nature and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Angela was the beloved wife of the late Joe Weaver, to whom she was married for 43 years. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. She was a devoted mother to Ed (Cheryl) Hull and Matthew Hull, and a caring stepmother to Joe (Nancy) Weaver Jr., Martha (David) Lorey, Patricia (Robert) Angus, and Amy (Jim) Dugan. Angela was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews and cherished her role as a grandmother to 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, both here and on the way. Angela was preceded in death by her son Martin Hull Jr. and her stepdaughter Gail Weaver. The third youngest of her siblings, Angela was the last to join her beloved brothers and sisters Theresa, John, Clayton, Mary Ellen, Colleen, and Virginia in eternal rest. She is survived by Joe's brother Rob (Marylou) Weaver and sisters-in-law Terri Jackson and Joan Weaver.
Angela's early years were illuminated by her striking presence as a fashion model for J. L. Hudson and The North American Auto Show, where she captivated audiences with her poise and grace. Her beauty, both inside and out, was evident to all who knew her.
Angela worked at Johnstone & Johnstone Realty for many years selling real estate in the Grosse Pointe area. She worked tirelessly to provide her clients the chance of achieving the American dream with the buying and selling of their houses.
Her academic pursuits, which included some college, laid the foundation for a life of continuous learning and service. Angela's passion for helping others led her to co-found The Mental Illness Research Association (MIRA), through which she raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support individuals with psychiatric mental disorders. Her commitment to this cause was not only a reflection of her generous spirit but also of her deep empathy for those in need.
Angela's literary contribution, a book titled "Legacy of Love," is a heartfelt compilation of poetry and family anecdotes that further showcased her reflective and considerate nature. Through her writings, she touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Known for her legendary chocolate chip cookies, Angela's baking was a highlight of family gatherings. Her cookies were so delectable that they were often spirited away by relatives eager to savor them just a little longer. The memory of her cookies, like her kindness, will linger sweetly in the minds of her family and friends.
Angela's life was a living example of the words that best described her: generous, thoughtful, and selfless. She gave of herself without expecting anything in return and made a profound impact on the lives of those around her. Her memory will be treasured, her lessons remembered, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to feel the touch of her love and compassion.
As we say farewell to Angela M. Weaver, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey filled with purpose, and a heart that overflowed with love. Her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives she touched, and her memory will be a guiding light for generations to come. Angela's passing is not an end, but a beacon that will continue to shine, reminding us of the beauty of a life dedicated to the service of others.
Angela's family takes comfort in knowing she lived fully, loved deeply, and left this world a better place. She will be profoundly missed and eternally appreciated.
