Mr. Angelo Wayne Kernodle entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his residence in Danville, Virginia. Born to the late William Kernodle and Elizabeth Kernodle. Angelo was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

A proud graduate of George Washington High School, Class of 1981, Angelo was known for his passion for sports and martial arts. He earned his first-degree black belt in Taekwondo and served as an assistant instructor at The Gym Incorporation of Taekwondo in Danville, where he inspired many with his discipline and dedication.

Angelo was employed at American Phoenix in Danville until his retirement in October 2024. His work ethic and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father William Kernodle, sister Pamela Kernodle and brothers Michael Kernodle and Jason Murray.

Angelo leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother Elizabeth Kernodle of Danville, VA; his devoted son Jarris (Maryia) Guy of Danville, VA; four adored grandchildren Jayce Guy, Ja'Miya Guy, Jermarion Morton and Ga'Ryia Kernodle all of Danville, Virginia; one sister Brenda Murray Lipscomb of Pelham, NC; one brother Bobby (Linda) Murray of Reidsville, NC; one uncle George (Hattie) Murray of Burlington, NC; three aunts, Mary Jean (Donald) Poole of Yanceyville, NC, Rosa L. Hairston of Danville, VA and Jenny McCleary of MD; two special friends Jeffrey Fitzgerald and Charlie Warden and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Angelo's legacy of love, strength and quiet wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A private memorial service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, with a private burial to follow at a later date.
