Angelo Sabatino Sciullo, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by love, on July 6, 2024, at the age of 77.
Born in Ateleta, Italy, he was the son of the late Armando and Maria Antonia (Sciulli) Sciullo. Being a determined young man, Angelo left Italy when he was 16 years old and moved to Montreal, Canada. There he met his wife, Rose Bombardieri, when he was just 20 years old, and she was 18. It was love at first sight as he saw her in the subway and followed her out. They married on September 27th, 1969, in Montreal. They then moved to Pittsburgh, PA to be closer to his family in Oakland.
Angelo was a hardworking, ambitious young man. He began working at Matthews International and then later the Contraves Goerz Corporation. He wanted the best for his growing family and began taking on extra machining jobs. Angelo worked in the basement of his first home in Greenfield for 4 years, working during the day for the company and nights for himself.
In 1982, he purchased his first building in Homestead, PA and worked tirelessly to make Sciullo Machine Shop a thriving, successful business. His son, Fabian, followed in his father's footsteps and continues to run the machine shop in West Homestead. Angelo's eldest grandson, Joseph Ursits, has decided to become a machinist like his Nonno and now works at the shop alongside his uncle. They will carry on the business with the passion and dedication that he instilled in them.
Angelo worked hard to raise his 4 children to become independent and successful adults. He was very proud of all his children's successes and was blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, who he loved dearly.
Angelo was an avid hunter and sportsman. He went out most every hunting season with his sons as they were growing up, instilling a love for the outdoors and shooting. Angelo loved his time spent with his sons and grandsons hunting in Venango County. He belonged to the Clairton Sportsman's Club in West Mifflin for many years and enjoyed his Wednesday nights with his friends, shooting clays.
Angelo was a member of the Ateleta Club in Bloomfield for many years, where he served as president of the club for 3 years. He was very happy and proud of this accomplishment and role. He and his family enjoyed many dances, parties, and picnics over the years.
Angelo was a proud and hardworking man, and his absence will be felt by many. His legacy will continue on with his beloved wife of 55 years, Rose (Bombardieri) Sciullo; his children, Dr. Armando (Beth) Sciullo of Grove City, PA, and their children Brooke, Milena, and Sabatino Angelo; Antoinette (Robert) Ursits of Conway, SC, and their children, Joseph, Anna Rose, and Jonathan; Franca Sciullo of Pittsburgh, PA and her children, Avery Rosaria and Dylan Francesca; and Fabiano Sciullo of Elizabeth, PA, and his children, Alexandra, Giada, and Matteo; his sisters, Ilde (Antonio) Musillo and Faustina (Sandro) Onorato; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He will be reunited with his parents, Armando and Maria Antonia Sciullo; his sister and brother-in-law, Antonia and Ottavio DiTanna; and his nephews, Giovanni Onorato and Guiseppe DiTanna.
Family and friends are invited to come for a visitation at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 on Wednesday, July 10, and Thursday, July 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 12, 10 AM, at St. Therese Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 1 St. Therese Court, Munhall, PA 15120. Interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 718 Hazelwood Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Condolences may be left at www.swgfuneralhome.com

Rose,Antoinette,Franca,Armando,Fabiano and family-we were all so very sorry to learn of the passing of your husband, Rose ,and although we did not know Angelo as well, we were always blessed by Antoinette and her wonderful baby sitting skills and also Franca too. Rose you were a wonderful Mom , neighbor and homemaker-someone that I truly admired as a young mom starting out with my children on Flemington Street. I still have some recipes you shared for bread forever etched in my memory. You made such a difference in my life by letting your girls and sometimes you ,babysit for me after I had Nicole and needed to get back to work! I am truly sorry upon hearing about the loss of your husband and you are all in my prayers and thoughts.Lean on Jesus at this time to find the peace and comfort in the days ahead and rest assured Angelo achieved all those milestones in his life because you were right by his side all the way .God bless you all."The just man walketh in his integrity- his children are blessed after him" Proverbs 20:7. Much love, Tony, Mary Jean and Tudi family
