Angela “Angie” O’Bryant Newman, 80, of Campobello, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Oconee Country, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Myrtle O’Bryant.
On October 3, 1966, Angie married the late Walker Austin Newman, with whom she shared a beautiful life in the Walnut Grove community. She and Walker both were members of Walnut Grove Methodist Church. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Roebuck Primary School before becoming a clerk at the Spartanburg Treasurer’s Office, where she later retired.
Lovingly known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, Angie cherished time spent with her family, enjoyed going on road trips, and had a passion for shopping. She loved life, laughter, and good company, always shining the brightest in every room she entered. All those who knew her will remember her kindness, her joy for life, and the way she made everyone feel special.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, George O’Bryant (Lucille), and her brother-in-law, Earl Brownlee. She is survived by her siblings: Jack O’Bryant (Sandra), Mildred Brownlee, and Doris Elder (Donnie). She is also survived by her children, Kelli Adams (Dennis) and John Newman; and her grandchildren, Austin Adams (Sydney) and Gracie Adams (Angel Carias).
The family will be receiving friends on October 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel.
